The Rev Louis Barnabé Nathanaël Saint-Pierre

Born in Haiti August 25th, 1963, Nathanael is a graduate from the Seminaire de théologie, Haiti  (July 1992). He was ordained to the diaconate in December 1992 by late Bishop Jacques A. Js Garnier then Diocesan Bishop of Haiti and was advanced to the priesthood in September 1993 by Bishop Jean Zaché Duracin, current Diocesan Bishop of Haiti. He spent close to 3 years serving in Gonaives, Haiti, as priest in charge of St Basile le Grand and St Matthieu, Bayonnais. He left Haiti in May 1996 to achieve collegial study in computer science in Montreal, Canada.

 

Before becoming the 7th bishop’s vicar at The Haitian Congregation of the Good Samaritan, Rev Saint-Pierre was a quarter time Rector of l’Église Anglicane de la Nativité a Haitian congregation in North Montreal for 38 months and quarter time Rector of St James in Rosemère Laval for 6 months. He also worked as a computer programmer and system analyst for several prestigious Canadian companies such as ChemPOS, Delmar, Mon 1er Services Immobiliers and Futuremed (Toronto). He acted as a Canadian computer expert in foreign mission including supporting a Canadian team for democratic election in his home country Haiti in 2007. Nathanael is also a skilled automobile mechanic and a talented communicator and journalist involved in many social movements and still collaborating with several radio and newspaper both in Montreal and Haiti.

 

His faith in God, his strong sense of leadership, his belief in adequate changes to strengthen his community, his multiple gifts and talents made him the appropriate candidate to succeed our beloved now retired Rev Jean Louis Felix Sanon.

 

Nathanael is married to Karline Bernard, a registered nurse, and they have two children: Natoutchika Nakianoel 19, and Kael 15.

 

We praise God for what Rev Nathanael has accomplished with us during the last 6 months. May God, in his infinite mercy, keeps blessing him and his family for a productive ministry in the Diocese of New York and in The Haitian Congregation of the Good Samaritan.
